"But times changed, and I didn't feel that way anymore. The Beatles were happening. I think that was probably the main thing. The Beatles just changed the whole world of music" (Barry McGuire). The Beatles had a vast influence on the world of music and even though they do not exist today, their music still resonates on the guitar strings of others. Although rock and roll was looked down upon at first, the Beatles had changed this genre forever. They widely popularized it through their creative lyrics and songs. They had a vast influence on American society. An obsession with the Beatles demonstrates the American ideal of individuality through creativity, rebellion, and self-empowerment.
